You should by no means neglect all the little courtesies and polite attentions of gentlemen on account of your being engaged to another. This would be a breach of true politeness.
Never be betrayed into too great a freedom. Your lover expects, and certainly has a right to a preference in your attentions; and if you be too lavish of them, you expose yourself to the imputation of being a flirt!
